Easy Ways To Improve Your Cell Phone Signal Posted on May 31, 2021July 21, 2023 By Leigh Langston When the signal drops on your cell phone, you may get frustrated with your device, but you can likely blame your surroundings. Buildings, crowds, and trees can interfere with cell tower signals, making it difficult to make a call. Discover easy ways to improve your cell phone signal so you won’t have to deal with these frustrations again. Avoid Interference For the strongest signal, you need cell towers to reach your phone without any interference. If you run a business, you should know how to boost cell reception in concrete and metal buildings to improve communication and efficiency. Remove objects like electronics and large metal items that could block access to the network. Charge Your Phone PPexels.com Your cell phone requires battery power to search for a cell tower. It’s difficult for your cell phone to find a tower when your battery is low, as it must use less power. You can save your phone’s battery by turning down the screen brightness and closing out of any apps running in the background. Move Around One tried-and-true way to boost the signal on your device is to change your location. Usually, you can simply go outside or move closer to a window. You may also get a better signal on your phone by moving to a higher floor within a building. Make sure you don’t block your smartphone’s internal antenna when holding it. Try changing your phone’s position in your hands to see whether that changes the signal strength. Use Wi-Fi Although Wi-Fi doesn’t technically boost your cell phone signal, it’ll allow you to connect to the internet. You can use Wi-Fi calling to place free calls if you’re experiencing low bars or dead zones in a building. Switch Carriers If your cell phone signal is often spotty, you may need to switch carriers. Talk to coworkers, neighbors, and friends in your area about their phones and cell service. These are just a few easy ways to improve your cell phone signal. Eventually, you’ll get in the habit of improving your signal through a combination of methods. Try these simple workarounds so you always have access to the network.
