What Your Branding Says About Your Business Posted on October 7, 2021October 7, 2021 By Leigh Langston Your business’s branding says more about your company than you may think. Every aspect of how your brand presents itself, from its logo’s color scheme to the website layout, sends a message to your customers. Here is what your branding says about your business. Who Runs Your Company? Your branding is typically a customer’s first impression of your company and one subtle, yet important thing it tells your customers is exactly who runs your company. Bigger businesses and brand names often have disconnected branding that focuses on mascots and product information nowadays, as expressing information about their board of trustees doesn’t exactly entice customers. Smaller businesses, however, have a unique opportunity to tell their story through branding. Older, inefficient website designs signals to customers that a business is inexperienced or has a much older ownership. On the other hand, a sleek, highly focused appearance tells customers the company is run by young techies. Branding can even go so far as to express a company’s values, with chances to emphasize environmental values, accessibility values, or company culture. What Customers Should Expect Branding also tells customers what to expect of your company, for better or for worse. Any faults in site navigation or poor graphic design tells customers to lower their expectations for your service or product or to even look elsewhere. Well-made packaging or an engaged, great-looking social media page can show customers that they can expect a higher quality product or customer care. Even branding colors tell customers more about your business. Think about fast food restaurants and their color schemes. Many incorporate the color red, as it is known to make the human brain hungrier. Green or blue branding suggests sophistication and safety. How you pair colors helps communicate the services your customers can expect from you. How Much You Care Investing in your branding sends one incredibly clear message to customers: you care. Great graphic design, easy site navigation, a strong social media presence, and every other aspect of your branding that you put effort into will be noticed by your customers. If you devote time and energy into making sure your brand communicates what your business is passionate about and why you’re the right choice for customers, you’re telling customers that you are invested in their happiness, too. Understanding what your branding says about your business provides your company a chance to control the narrative and communicate the intended message clearly in the future. There is always a way to improve your operation, and for small businesses with tight-knit teams and a passion for their services, branding is a great place to start. Like this:Like Loading...
