Unique Ways To Advertise Your Small Business Posted on July 28, 2021September 18, 2023 By Dangerous Lee Marketing is probably one of the most overlooked business areas when a person first starts a new company—the reason is that people think it costs them too much. More people need to understand that there are plenty of cheap or even free ways to market their products or services. So, if you are struggling right now or simply looking for some new ideas to get ready for Black Business Month in a couple of weeks, then our list of unique ways to advertise your small business might be just the thing you’re looking for. Increase Your Online Presence Everyone is online these days, so if you aren’t, you’re likely missing out on a huge chunk of your target audience. Chances are, you already have some level of internet presence. If you do, simply having it isn’t enough. You need to post regularly, engage with your potential customers, and develop creative ways to share your company. Also, if you’re only on Facebook, that isn’t going to cut it. Facebook isn’t the catch-all social media it used to be. Figure out which sites are most used by your target market and create accounts on those. Don’t be afraid to make a YouTube or Tik Tok account to connect with those who prefer a video-based medium over a text-based one. The best part is all of this is relatively free. Improve Your SEO None of the ideas in the previous point will do you much good if people can’t find you on Google or other search platforms. Now, this doesn’t mean you should spend money on ads. What it does mean is you need to work on your search engine optimization (SEO). You don’t need to hire a professional when you’re a small company. Google has plenty of tools to do it on your own for free—one of them being Google Business Profile. This program allows you to officially register your business’s name and location, allowing users to see you on Google Maps. Listen to me read this article on YouTube. Focus On Local Ads When people think ads, they think commercials. That’s not the route you want to take. Since your business is still in its early stages, you don’t need to attract the attention of people who live on the other side of the country. Instead, you need to focus on the people who are right at home. You can do local ads on the internet, but the best way to get people’s attention is to post signs around town. Custom wall graphics and paintings are both quite effective, although we’d argue that wall graphics are the better choice. Investing in a car wrap is also a great, affordable choice. Once you pay the money to get the design on your vehicle, you’ll never have to pay again like you would with a billboard. Engage With Your Customers The best unique way to advertise your small business is by getting your current customers to return regularly. A fun way to do this is to hold contests, such as a lip-syncing competition or the classic “how many beans are in the jar” contest. Depending on the type of store you have, you could even have live entertainment or a movie night. The options are practically endless. Like this:Like Loading...
