Music: Get to The Other Side of Through with Hollye Monro Posted on October 15, 2020October 28, 2024 By Dangerous Lee Hollye Monro has been immersed in music creatively and otherwise since she was a child thanks to having a music producer father and access to a recording studio. She sings, raps, and has a background in fashion. The Hollye Monro vibe is hip hop and R&B, so one moment she’ll have you shaking your ass then the next you’ll be laid back bobbing your head with a drink or joint in hand. Get to know this dynamic woman a little better in this exclusive Q&A! https://dangerouslee.biz/promotion-machine/ The Q&A BGA: What’s the story behind the name Hollye Monro and why you chose to spell it that way? Hollye: When I was in high school my friends called me Hollywood. Since I’ve always been in love with Marilyn Monroe’s fearless attitude and style I added that at the end of my name. Also the e at the end of Hollye is a play on the show Hollywood E. BGA: Describe your musical style: Hollye: I can not be put in a box. Like my team say; I don’t have a lane. I’m a highway! BGA: Who or what influences you to create music? Hollye: The more I travel the world the more creative I get. It’s like I gotta see new things and experience new things to create. BGA: Who would you love to collaborate with musically? Hollye: I would love to collaborate with Erykah Badu! BGA: Any advice or words of wisdom for other women who want to be a successful music artist? Hollye: Get a solid team that’s as hungry as you to win! Also stay consistent and always stay humble! Don’t ever lose that hunger! BGA: If you had to pick one song of yours for people to listen to first, what would it be? Hollye: It would be Vibe Suicide. It holds a lot of meaning and motivation. That song means a lot to me. Get into more Hollye Monro and The Other Side of Through on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. You and your business can be featured at Black Girls Allowed too!
