I decided to book a seven-day cruise vacation that fell on our sixth wedding anniversary. The purpose of the vacation was to rekindle the fire that went out in our marriage. I made the mistake of asking my husband at the time whether he was happy on our anniversary. The response I got was not what I expected or one that I wanted to hear. His response – “I haven’t been happy the past five years and I only stayed married to you this long because we have kids together” – crushed my soul, heart and spirit, all at the same time. All I could do was cry and wonder, “What just happened? Did he just tell me that? Now what do I do? What do I do with this information?” About the Author T.L.
