Black Women Will Soon Have Their Very Own Sistah Self Care Spa: Here’s How You Can Help! Posted on December 6, 2018July 20, 2020 By Dangerous Lee BLACK WOMEN WILL SOON HAVE THEIR VERY OWN SPA THAT OFFERS “SISTAH SELF CARE” While Black women breakthrough barriers every day when it comes to employment and other kinds of success, studies show general health is an area where many are lacking. Inspired by the SistahSelfCare Movement Body, Soul, & Spirit Spa is raising funds to meet this vital need. Charmayne Thompson, owner of Body Soul and Spirit Spa It’s often been said, “health is the greatest wealth”. So while it may be wildly inspiring to see Black women rising to new heights in all areas of life, it’s quite frightening to learn, that reputable studies have pointed to their health suffering in the process. Fortunately, many Black women are banding together to help reverse this trend with the new SistahSelfCare Movement. At the head of this drive in Philadelphia is the ultra-motivated Charmayne Thompson, CEO of the Black-Woman empowering-focused Body, Soul, & Spirit Spa. Thompson recently announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to help bring the innovative spa to life and to give Black women a safe space to build more vibrant health and energy. This is a dream come true as someone devoted to living a holistic life of joy and peace, commented Thompson. Our Body, Soul, & Spirit Spa will help us spread that love to all of our clients and help make the world a better place, not just for black women, but for everyone. Major figures like Oprah Winfrey and Beyoncé have endorsed the SistahSelfCare Movement concept, so the timing seems perfect for the crowdfunding effort to launch. Beyoncé has remarked in the past in a quote that fits the philosophy behind SistahSelfCare, “Women have to take the time to focus on our mental health – take time for self, for the spiritual, without feeling guilty or selfish. The world will see you the way you see you, and treat you the way you treat yourself.” Services offered at the spa will include massages, pedicures, manicures, and facials, using all natural products; health and wellness education workshops; a healthy, natural product shop; special membership plans; and much more.
