Michelle Ngome: Making Black History with Marketing Company – Line 25 Consulting Posted on February 22, 2018March 11, 2025 By Dangerous Lee Photos by Bashari Guidry Pursue Your Creative Interests As a Cameroonian-American my efforts to make Black history in 2018 include sharing my story and broadening my reach. For the longest I would second guess myself and think that I cannot be the only person thinking like this. Â I realize the more I share my personal and professional wins and struggles in life’s journey I come across people that not only relate, but encourage me along the way. Â Professionally, I have been encouraged to pursue the safe route of a medical profession. I tried. I eventually found myself working in finance, but even then I was told not to shake things up. I left corporate America in 2013 to start my marketing company, Line 25 Consulting. Over the past four years, I have solidified a strong personal brand that has allowed me to publish two books, launch a podcast, and speak to dozens of organizations. I want to inspire third culture Millennials that they can have a successful career by pursuing their creative interests. Â Be Your Authentic Self On the personal side, I am becoming more open on discussing topics of positionality, intersectionality, and sexuality. Growing up I struggled with understanding my identity and it has evolved in other areas of my life. Â Having a therapist has allowed me to understand and work through several issues. I want other first/second generations to understand it is okay to be their authentic self and create a safe space for colleagues to express themselves throughout life’s’ transitions. Â Although my business persona is ever-growing. I am an advocate for women’s sexuality and mental health. I have the mind, the heart, the voice, and the vision to share my story that I may inspire other Africans and African-Americans to fully live their best lives. That is my Black history.
