Beginner’s Tips for When You Want To Try Wigs Posted on January 27, 2022January 27, 2022 By Leigh Langston Sometimes you want to give your natural hair a break or want something quick to play with. Luckily, it doesn’t have to take forever to find the perfect wig. So here are some beginner’s tips for when you want to buy a wig. Once you find the one, you’ll never want to take it off. Types of Wigs and Finding a Style When you start looking into wigs, it can feel like a lot. Understanding the differ ences between natural and synthetic hair wigs helps you decide your budget and desired style. While synthetic wigs offer a quick solution, natural hair wigs are a bigger investment but tend to last longer. There are also ready-made wigs, custom wigs, and lace front wigs. There are also a lot of colors to play with, styles to consider, and bundles you can buy. For example, you can find a big curled bright-pink wig you like. How To Wear Your New Wig Firstly, make sure you section your hair and tie it away. Proper sectioning is a big part of pulling off a gorgeous wig. You want your scalp to be as flat and bump-free as possible for a seamless wig. You can use a wig cap to smooth out bumps. Once you have secured your hair, the steps change depending on the kind of wig you choose. Synthetic wigs slip on and adjust to your natural hairline. Meanwhile, blending your hairline and securing it with adhesive will give lace front wigs a more natural look. Wig Care and Maintenance Tips When caring for your beautiful wigs, there are some precautions you need to consider. One of the beginner’s tips for when you want to try wigs is making sure you wash them like delicate garments. If you decide to wear wigs daily, you should wash them once a week. Cleaning Synthetic Wigs Have your wig drenched in a sink filled with cold water, then follow up with gently massaging wig shampoo onto the inside of the cap while removing residue. Dip the wig back in the water to make it foamy, drain the sink, then rinse thoroughly with cool water. Do not comb while it’s wet; lay it on a towel and gently roll it instead. Then, lightly blot and hang dry. Once dry, brush from tips to roots and style. Cleaning Natural Wigs Add a mild shampoo and conditioner mixture with a sink filled with cold water. Then, allow the wig to soak in the mix, working from root to tip. Rinse the wig with warm water, gently towel dry, then comb from nape to crown in downward strokes. Once you’ve allowed the wig to air dry, restyle the wig with a blow drier or a curling iron on the lowest heat setting. From there, your wig will look fresh and pristine. Finding the perfect wig doesn’t have to take a lifetime. Start simple and explore the many fun options! Like this:Like Loading...
