4 Places You Can Sell Your Products Commercially Online Posted on October 28, 2021October 27, 2021 By Leigh Langston When people first start putting their new or existing businesses online, the number one question that gets asked is, “Where can you sell your products commercially online?” Even though the internet is currently overrun with company storefronts as options, this is still a legitimate question. That’s why important to know which ones are the best to get started. Opening your shop on the wrong site can lead you down the wrong road, resulting in unnecessary failure. Niche Shopping Sites Depending on what you sell, your best option could be a shopping site that not many people have heard of. For example, if you sell handmade goods and artsy pieces, a place like Etsy would be perfect for finding the right people to sell to. Granted, Etsy is kind of well-known, but plenty of other unknown sites—such as Chairish, Ruby Lane, and VarageSale—cater to their respective niches and do an excellent job. Resale Sites If your company is still on the smaller side or you want to reach a bit of a wider audience, then resale shops might be your go-to. Not many people realize it, but tons of professional sellers set up shop on sites such as eBay and Mercari. Even those who have tried out Facebook Marketplace are starting to see some success with local buyers that they never had in their physical store. In some ways, this corner of the internet is an untapped market of potential. Large Company Sites If you want to go big or go home, then figure out how to become an affiliate seller through one of the big-time companies like Amazon or Walmart. They’re not as easy to get into as the other sites we’ve mentioned, but if you do, you’ll be able to reach some of the largest consumer groups on the internet. You’ll even be able to run an Amazon ad campaign to gain more traction if that’s who you decide to partner with. Be careful and play it safe. If you do anything to break their terms of service, you could have items removed or even get banned from the platform. Your Own Site All of our previous options on where you can sell your products commercially online are great choices and have their own set of perks. However, nothing beats selling through your own website where you have total control. Even though many website builders have their own way of building an online store for you, if you truly want all of the best options, use something like Shopify to create yours. This will help give your site a modern feel, and it’ll be easy to update, too. As long as you market efficiently online, you will be able to draw in the exact customers you’re looking for.
