I’m Not Religious…So What! Posted on December 9, 2011October 8, 2021 By Dangerous Lee I’m not religious…so what! re·li·gion [ri-lij-uhn] noun 1.a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. ag·nos·tic [ag-nos-tik] noun 1.a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience. _____________________________ I am agnostic. There are so many unknown truths in the world, and in my opinion God is one of them. I honestly believe that people use religion for bad more often than good. Think I’m lying? Check history. Check the present. Read a history book or watch the news! I’ll focus on Christianity for a minute since that is the religion I am most familiar with. Everyone interprets the Bible differently, but because it is thought to be the word of God people feel as if they should be judgmental and hate others because of what they think the Bible says to them or what they have been taught to believe the Bible means. My belief is that the Bible is not the word of God, it is the word of man, and because man is not to be fully trusted with anyone’s word I believe the Bible is laced with lies. It’s a work of fiction, folks! There are of course many relevant lessons and teachings within the Bible, but I do not think one has to be religious to understand or live by these very basic and common rules, such as The Ten Commandments. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against religious people. I allow my daughter to attend church with her grandmother (my mother) whenever she wants. I embrace everyone, but those who are for religion seem to have a huge problem with a “heathen” such as myself that does not prescribe to any religious teachings. Like this:Like Loading... It is eerily relevant today and sadly it will be 50 years from now. #ThrowbackThursday: Hurricane Katrina Looting in 2005 I don’t feel like doing the usual Q & A in this issue. I want to… Like this:Like Loading... Read More
Blogs by Dangerous Lee Movie Review: Water For Elephants Posted on November 3, 2011March 26, 2019 This film stars Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame and Reese Witherspoon. I was happily surprised at how touching and great this movie was. I didn’t know what to expect, but I’d have to say it’s a combination of The Notebook, Titanic, and Michael Jackson’s Neverland all rolled into one! I… Like this:Like Loading... Read More
Blogs by Dangerous Lee Movie Review: Apollo 18 Posted on September 6, 2011January 26, 2018 Apollo 18 is the latest Hollywood attempt at a truth telling documentary style film. The official description of the film reads: Decades-old found footage from NASA’s abandoned Apollo 18 mission, where two (it’s actually three) American astronauts were sent on a secret expedition, reveals the reason the U.S. has never… Like this:Like Loading... Exactly! Same with the Quran for Muslims. How can you expect me to worship and follow a book written by man over 1400 years ago? Ever played telephone telephone? Notice how the word changes in a room within minutes? So imagine what changes could have been made over 1400 years. Thank you for this.
Exactly! People act like God’s hand came down from heaven and wrote the Bible…like it wasn’t written …by people….like us….flawed and full of prejudice and bias. I’m with you all the way, Dangerous Lee!
Jesus Christ spoke about Hell and described what goes on there vividly. http://ablog4souls.wordpress.com/
