Careers That Women Can Use to Build Each Other Up Posted on April 12, 2021April 12, 2021 By Leigh Langston Let’s face it: being a Black woman is tough. In a world where it all too often feels like the world is against the success of Black women, doesn’t it make more sense to band together? We can all be so much stronger if we work together and build each other up. If that seems like a calling worth pursuing, there are some careers worth looking at that allow you to do just that. Mentor Whether you’re an entrepreneur or you’re shattering the glass ceiling in more traditional employment, you have a lot of lived experience that can be incredibly valuable to other Black women. Becoming a mentor allows you to take that experience and use it to help build up other Black women who are on the same journey you were on, but aren’t as far along it as you are. The mistakes you made and the lessons you’ve learned can be valuable tools that help vault those you mentor to greater success and more quickly than what they likely would have achieved on their own. Franchise Consultant Owning a successful business can be a dream come true for a Black woman, but getting to that point often isn’t easy. Getting involved with a franchise can help reduce risk and hasten success, but even that can be tough to do on your own. Getting started is the hardest part of becoming a franchise entrepreneur, which is where franchise consultants come in. As a franchise consultant, you can advise other Black women on franchise options that fit their goals and situation, help them figure out their financial options, and make introductions that can be beneficial to everyone involved. Teacher What do you remember about your teachers? It’s probably a mix of good memories and bad. You know how much of an impact a good teacher who cares about their students can have. If you want a chance to build up Black young women, teaching may be the right calling for you. You’ll have the chance to be the teacher every young Black child deserves and needs. Of course, teaching has its challenges to overcome, but there are so many chances to change lives for the better, it’s worth the effort. Black women are so powerful! We can do anything. One of the great things about that is that while we could do it alone, we don’t have to. As powerful as we are as individuals, we can be even more powerful if we build each other up and support one another, especially in our careers. Commit to being a powerful force for good in every aspect of your life so you can build up your sisters around you. Read this next for more tips: Tips For Starting a Bakery Like this:Like Loading...
