And, for many people in a variety of industries, having the flexibility to set your own hours is a very important part of choosing the right career. If you are looking for a career that will allow you to have more freedom with your schedule, one of the options below might be a great fit. Freelance Writer If you are interested in writing, working as a freelance writer can be a great way to improve your skill set and have a little more control over your schedule. When you are a freelance writer, you can write in pretty much any industry and you have a lot of freedom over the jobs you take. You can choose to work for one client or to diversify your client base with many different clients. Then once you have your client list, you can set your schedule based on the various deadlines you may face. Real Estate Agent If you love interacting with people and helping them to find solutions, you may consider becoming a real estate agent. This job can be incredibly flexible, and it also gives you the chance to help people find their forever homes. It’s important to make sure that you go through the proper licensing process to become a real estate agent. You can do this through different programs that can be in person or online. Many online real estate schools still don’t have videos in their course materials. Make sure you shop around for a program that works for your needs. Closed Captioner If you have ever used subtitles, you have seen the work of a closed captioner. Generally the people doing this work are tasked with transcribing the audio from programming so it is readable for various audiences. If you are a good listener and a fast typist, writing closed captions can be a great way for you to make money and have a flexible work schedule while you are at it. Finding flexible work is easier now than it has ever been in the past. The availability of the internet makes it easier for you to find work that allows you to work from anywhere on your schedule. Start looking into your options so you can have a little more control over your work life.
