Your Newborn Baby Will Love Being Swaddled in Beary Blessings Posted on January 27, 2021January 28, 2021 By Dangerous Lee Are you or do you know a new or expectant mother who doesn’t want to leave the house to shop for baby clothes? Into crochet? Black sororities and fraternities? Meet Angel Sledge, the founder and artist behind Beary Blessings! She makes affordable handmade crocheted baby accessories. Find out what inspires her and how you can dress your child in Beary Blessings until they’re 3! Angel Sledge – Owner of Beary Blessings What inspires you to crochet baby clothing? My maternal side of my family is the main inspiration for crocheting. My great grandmother was able to crochet but couldn’t teach my mother and grandmother. However, I was able to understand it after one class. So, I guess the crochet gene skips a couple of generations. She also owned three businesses in a segregated South Carolina. So I look to her strength as I start up this small business. Furthermore, the idea to crochet baby clothes comes from a need in my community. My mother is an OB Nurse, and she told me they were in need of baby hats for the newborns. I started designing some for the hospital. The nurses loved it so much they said I should start selling them and that is how Beary Blessings was created. Are your creations only for newborns? No, actually I have baby hats that go up to 1-year-old size. I working on expanding sizes in the scratch mittens. The goal is to have accessories that fit all the way up to 3 years old. Tell us more about your product line and what makes it so special? The product line I have developed focuses a lot on design. I have an obsession with colors! So I try to showcase that through my products. Especially because I am dealing with babies, I feel that a wide color range would be more exciting and appealing to them. Additionally, I developed a product line that highlights the Divine Nine, Black sororities, and fraternities. It is called the Legacy Line. My mother and grandmother are apart of the AKA’s so I wanted to dedicate something to the history associated with them. Finally, I also love the different holidays and colors associated with seasons. So, I will soon be releasing my Valentine’s Day collection with a featured Product of the Month at the start of February 1st. Any plans to expand the line? I am actually working on developing new accessories to add to the store. My mother finally learned how to make baby blankets, so she is excited to add them to my website. I am also working on designs for headbands and buckets hats for the warms months ahead. Therefore, it is important to join my email list and follow me on social media. I have so much planned the and I am also improving and adding to my company. So don’t be afraid to join me for the ride. Like this:Like Loading...
