It’s no secret that people copy whatever they see celebrities doing. They copy the kind of coffee they’re drinking, what brand of clothes they’re wearing, and what kind of cars they’re driving. If someone has the means, they will imitate their favorite celebrities. One of the biggest things that people imitate, with the majority of copy cats being women, is the type of hair styles that celebrities are sporting these days. It’s one of the easiest and cheapest ways to replicate what the stars are doing.
Popular Trends for Women
One of the biggest things coming back in fashion is bangs. Leave it to Taylor Swift to start this fashion trend. The country star has been rocking the bangs since the beginning of the year and now other celebrities like Lea Michele, Sophia Bush, and Jessica Biel are sending this trend to the top of the charts. You will most likely see your friends’ profile pictures on FaceBook changing soon to show their new do!
Length was a huge trendsetter at the beginning of the year. Stars like Amanda Seyfried and Nina Dobrev rock a single length, while Rachel Bison go with the traditional long and layered look. Both of these can be seen just about anywhere you go whether it’s WalMart, the local grocery store, or on a college campus. Another beauty who started a major hair trend was none other than the gorgeous Blake Lively and her luscious blonde beach waves. It’s by far one of the easiest styles to recreate for people with long hair because all it really involves is a braid or two before you go to bed, wake up, and run your hands through the waves. Presto, you’ll have sexy, classic hair that takes minimal time to prepare.
With the year progressing, we’re seeing a dramatic change in trends and it’s being set by the ones who are truly bold and daring. Stars like Rihanna, and Miley Cyrus have chopped off their luscious locks and gone for a dramatic change that can be seen happening across the nation in salons everywhere. A number of confident women are following in their footsteps and making some drastic changes to their hairstyles like adding a bold color, shaving the side of their head, and leaving the rest long, or just going straight to a sheer pixie cut like Charlize Theron.
A trend that just started, but seems to be picking up speed quickly is the collar length hair cut for women. There’s the asymmetrical cut that Julianne Hough is showing off, and the short bob that Beyoncé was spotted with recently.
Trends for Men
Over the last year it was hard not to notice that guys were slowly straying from the messy Robert Pattinson Twilight hair, and moving back to a more groomed and neat cut. Some have even taken the time to run a come through it and add some styling product for a nice effect.
And some men are growing their hair out as well and letting their natural waves speak for themselves. Johnny Depp, and Jared Leto are perfect examples of this!
Just because these trends are in doesn’t mean that they have to be followed. Do your own thing so that you’re comfortable with how you look. But if you feel like you need a change just go pick up the nearest hairstyle magazine at your local store and look through it. I’m sure you’ll find something that works for you!
