11 Hot Haute Couture Hair Styles

 chanel

1.     Ethreal and Enchanted.

This look comes from Chanel and sweeps the hair away from the face, in feminine yet untamed swirls, gathering it together to bring volume at the back, then letting it fall to one side.  Adorned with pastel, white and black translucent flowers the hair and make-up gives this look a wild and delicate sensibility.

Dior

2.     Suck Me Sweet.

This look from Dior, despite making the model look like a giant piece of candy is not as sweet as one might expect.  There is a harsh Grace Jones element to the look, with the deep purples contrasting the model’s pale skin, set against her blackened lips.  One can make out the towering shapes that form her mounting hair underneath the plastic wrap, that all comes together to create a look that is severe yet sweet.

Dandy

3.  Period Dandy

This haute couture hairstyle melds together the wide, white bouffant of dramatic period femininity with the opposing dark dandification Victoriana.  Infusing explosive blond hair a the black top hat and feathers to create a look that is utterly arresting, not just because of the enormity of the hair, but the entire contradicting composition.

 Pastel

4.     Pastel Princess

This pastel princess hair is utterly fantastic!  Calling to mind a school-girlish innocence, all the hair is placed in a vast updo, sweeping in two buns around the sides and back.  Infused with silvery white that offsets and cutens the model’s blonde hair, it all comes together with a bow and pastel pink rose set at the front, above a dramatic and straight cut fringe.  My favorite part, however, is when it all comes together with an intricate, pink seam that covers the hairline running from the nape of the neck to the top of the head at the back.  Beautiful!

Breaking News

5.  Breaking News

This haute couture hair from John Galliano is one of my absolute favorites!  Looking like a post-apocalyptic perfection the model has her hair back combed and swept dramatically upwards, the back of her head is covered with stuck on newspaper that follows the natural shape of her head.  The sides are given an extra special twist with two curls molded along it, to give a little extra shape and intricacy.  The entire look is garnished with an assortment of pink and purple hair sprays for the extra grungy, graffittied look that really brings out the models metallic make-up.

 frost bitten

06.  Frost Bitten Thorns

This is the most elaborate and enchanting hair of the list, and is an absolute fantastical beauty.  The hair is styled to fall down, and is long and completely crimped, to give it an utterly textured effect, but what it incredible is all the styling that is going on above the head.  Styled in the piece are a network of spiraling crimped strands that form interweaving vines, laced with large snowflakes that sprawl across the top of the model’s head and up along the network of auburn vines.  The sides of the head are finished with a crimped flower-esque bow. Utterly divine!

 Woven

7.  Woven Weave

This unusual hair is a wonderful rendition of a medieval maiden.  The hair creates a canvas that starts right up the top and weaves in and out of itself falling in a long, straight but textured sheet all the way down.  The back is finished with all the hair being braided in a feminine, circular swirl.

 Asian

8.  Asian Empress

These hair styles are all in keeping with the same theme, a beautifully maintained and ornate quality.  The hair is slicked extremely close to the head.  Separated at the front with a precise middle parting.  The hair then forms a band that goes all the way around the head, covering the ears.  On top of this is an elaborate bun.  The styles swoop forwards in perfect swirls, and are then completed with a spray of hair on the very top, the tips fanning out dramatically.  A contrast to the precise and smooth hair beneath it.

 stormy

9.  Stormy Turbulence

This hairstyle by Pepis London dramatically rises skyward in jet black.  It winds itself round and round emulating the eye of a hurricane, when reaching a certain point it changes direction and begins to decline again, as it does so the pitch black color becomes intermingled with a silvery grey, adding to the stormy effect of the style.  It culminates in pure silver, having become narrow it is as though one has discovered the heart of the storm.

 wedding hair

10.  Rose Garden

This hair is so naturally feminine.  Red hair wildly rises upwards above the head, and then falls in gorgeous curls on either side.  On one side, nestled by the head are three roses that match the hair so perfectly it is as though they are made of it.  The haute couture hair is the absolute epitomization of what it means to be an English rose.  Stunning.

Frost Bitten

11.  Frost Bitten Thorns
