Nowadays we all lead such busy and fast-paced lifestyles that it can be hard to find the time to get on with the household chores. It’s understandable to feel like you are just far too hassled to have the time to clean your home properly – you need to know the tricks to save you time and maintain a clean and dirt-free home. That’s why I’ve compiled these home cleaning tips to help busy people like you find the time to clean as well as play.

Concentrate on one room at a time

It can be all too easy to get caught up in the stress of having to clean an entire house, which is why it’s important to keep your mind clear and focused by concentrating on one room at a time. So each week, pay special attention to one room of your home to save you more time when it comes to spring cleaning, because you’ve cleaned thoroughly throughout the year.

Use an efficient cleaning apron

Cleaning can be made far faster simply by wearing a cleaning apron. Not convinced? Fill the apron’s pockets with dusting rags, polishes, brushes and other cleaning materials so you will have everything to hand as you go from room to room.

Clean from top to bottom

Dust settles downwards so avoid making what you’ve just cleaned dirty again by working from top to bottom. Make sure you leave the floor until last to clean to save you from vacuuming twice.

Never let anything get too bad

Mess accumulates faster than you realize, so putting off the cleaning even by just a day could actually make the job a lot more time consuming when you next get round to it. Remember the old adage, don’t put off until tomorrow what can be done today. If you have a spare twenty minutes, give your house a vacuum.

Work efficiently with your admin

We all receive irritating junk mail through our doors but rather than throw it in the bin, we tend to leave it to gather dust on the sideboard. And what about that sun cream that’s been sitting in your bathroom cupboard for over a year? It won’t be any good to use now so you might as well throw it away and use the extra space to house another beauty product. If there’s less mess on worktops to clear away first, you’ll be more inclined to give empty worktops a quick wipe with a dusting cloth.

Ask the kids to help

Many people seem to forget that kids are perfectly capable of lending a helping hand with the cleaning and tidying. Put your kids to work on their bedrooms and ask them to tidy away their toys in the living room to make your cleaning job simpler.

Invest in a feather duster

Feather dusters have been used continually throughout the years as efficient means of cleaning the dust from worktops and hard to reach places. So investing in a feather duster will make light work of all of your household cleaning chores.

Keep your bathroom sparkly clean

For hygiene reasons it is essential that you keep on top of your bathroom cleaning chores. Set aside time every few days and it should only take around ten to fifteen minutes to get it back to sparkly and germ free condition again.
