Do you spend far too much time standing in front of your wardrobe deciding what to wear for the day, and wish you could speed things up? Luckily, there are a few tips and tricks you can learn which will help you put together a great look in mere minutes.
Before you can start to pull together flattering and fashion-forward outfits in the blink of an eye, it is necessary to do a little groundwork. It all starts with re-organizing your wardrobe.
Group by type
If you group everything in your wardrobe by type, such as work wear, evening wear and day wear for starters, it will be much easier and quicker to find an occasion-appropriate outfit. Women’s clothes can also be grouped in subcategories, such as ‘dresses to wear for weddings’ or ‘holiday dresses’.
You may even want to go one step further and group individual pieces together to form outfits. If you know two pieces go together, put them on the same hanger or hang them next to each other.
Snap it and label it
If you have worn an outfit before and know it looks good, you might want to make a note of it or get a friend to take a photo of you wearing the outfit. You can then stick a note or a print-out photo of the outfit on the hanger of the main piece, so you’ll remember what accessories and shoes go best with it. This may sound a bit too organized, but it can really save you time.
Invest in a capsule wardrobe
A capsule wardrobe consists of a restricted number of women’s clothes, shoes and accessories. Each piece goes well with many of the others, enabling you to create numerous outfits from just a few key pieces.
Your capsule wardrobe should have:
- Less than 25 pieces
- Pieces which can be dressed up and dressed down using other items from the capsule collection
- Colors and styles which flatter you
