Can 40 Really Be the New 20?

If you’re closing in on 40, you may have started dreading it.  Maybe you’re feeling “over the hill” or like you’re on the verge of a mid-life crisis.  If you’re considering going on vacation and getting liposuction in Chicago, or going skydiving, or you’re just looking for a small way to make yourself feel younger, here are a few ideas on how to make yourself younger that don’t require a crisis.

Buy yourself something new.

We’ve all heard of retail therapy, and if you’ve done it, you know it can work wonders for making you feel better.  Be careful not to do anything you can’t afford, or you’ll make yourself feel worse when the bill comes.  If you can’t afford the news sports car, skip it or just rent one for a day.  If you’re feeling older, try revamping your wardrobe.  If your closet is filled with clothing that makes you feel 60, add in some pieces that look younger.  Don’t be afraid to get something featured in the style sections of GQ or Cosmopolitan!  However, if you’re still dressing like you’re in Seventeen, go for the opposite.  Dressing too young can make you look older and awkward, so pick out some items that are more age-appropriate to look and feel younger.

Make your body feel younger.

If you’re not already leading an active lifestyle, your doctor has probably told you that you should be exercising and eating right.  Aside from just getting your doctor off your case, being active and healthy will make you feel better and give you more energy.  If you’re already active, crank it up a notch and sign up for something that will push your limits and give you a goal to reach.  Depending on your level of fitness, try a charity walk, a 5k run, or even a half or full marathon.  Not only will you feel great, but reaching your goal will give you something to be proud of and make you feel young all over again.

Go ahead – get the surgery you were thinking about.

If the big thing that’s dragging you down is that you’re starting to look older, you’re not alone.  Wouldn’t it be nice to look in the mirror and love what you see again?  Maybe you can’t go back to your 20s, but you can look more like it.  If you hate your new wrinkles, consider Botox or another option for facial rejuvenation.  If you’re a woman and your chest doesn’t look like it used to, consider a breast lift.  Whether you’re a man or a woman, your midsection has probably grown in size with age, but you don’t have to live with it – try liposuction.  If you’re embarrassed about the idea of having these things done and worried what people will think, then take a vacation, have a lift or liposuction in Chicago, and the only thing people will notice when you come back to the office is how great you look now and how much you’re glowing with pride!
