Autumn Hair Trends – Ombre & Dip Dye

Ombre and dip dye hair were summer’s biggest hair trends, and the look is set to stay throughout Autumn.

Celebrities like Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port have ombre hair all year through and the trend is staying for this season autumn, taking a more natural look.

Dip Dye hair usually consists of vibrant colours that are not typical natural hair colours. For example, pastel blues and pinks, to vibrant reds and purples. In most cases, the natural hair colour will run to approximately three quarters of the way down the hair, and the very ends will feature the bright colour.

With ombre hair, the colours are a lot more subtle using mostly browns and blondes so that the hair appears gradually from its own natural colour, into a lighter colour at the ends.

To get dip dye and ombre hair, most people tend to use bleach to dye the ends of their hair blonde, and then follow with their desired colour.  However, bleach can severely damage hair and cause it to break and become extremely dry.

An alternative to dying hair to achieve ombre or dip dye, is clip in hair extensions.

Clip in dip dye and ombre hair extensions come in a range of colours from vibrant pinks and blues, to more sutble autumnal shades of brown and auburn.

As dip dye is quite a vibrant style, some people opt for hair extensions instead so that when they need to, they can take them out so their hair is no longer dip dye, for example for work meetings and school.

With clip in dip dye hair extensions, the look can be achieved in minutes with ease, and without hair dye. They usually consist of approximately 10 individual pieces ranging in widths so that you can place them where you need. Each piece will include a metal clip that clips securely onto your natural hair without damaging it. The clips can then be placed anywhere on the head, and even used to tie hair in a ponytail for extra length.

So why choose bleach when you can achieve the look whilst keeping your hair in the best possible condition? As long as the clip in hair extensions are 100% human hair, then they can be cut and styled just like your own hair making them look as natural as possible. If one day you want them straight you can straighten them and if the next day you want wavy hair you can use a curling tong on them. Just always remember to use a heat protector spray to keep them in the best condition so that they last longer.
