4 Easy To Cook Mexican Dishes

Mexican cuisine has become a worldwide phenomenon; you will struggle to go to any reasonably sized town that doesn’t have at least one Mexican-themed eatery. If you’re one of the millions of people who love this style of cooking, you should try to make some of your own Mexican dishes that are guaranteed to go down a treat with your friends and family. Here are five Mexican meals that are as easy as anything to prepare and are sure to be delicious.

Nachos

Let’s start simple. If you’re having friends over for a movie night, you’re having a barbeque or you just fancy a snack, nachos are a tasty treat that people will love. To prepare your own nachos, all you have to do is cover a deep baking tray generously in tortilla chips. Now take some salsa and pour over the top of the chips. After that, grab plenty of grated mozzarella and cheddar cheeses and cover your chips and salsa in a thick layer. If you want you can also add some chopped jalapenos for a spicy kick. Your guests will love your homemade nachos and will want to keep coming round for more.

Chili Con Carne

Although it was originally devised in Texas, Chili con carne has been adopted by Mexican cooking and nowadays is very much a favourite in the country. If you want to prepare an authentic Mexican chili con carne, collect some minced beef, chili peppers of your choosing, kidney beans, chopped tomatoes, onions and cumin. Fry the beef and onions and then add the rest of the ingredients, you can leave the mixture to simmer for as long as you like; the longer it cooks for, the more intense and infused the flavours will be. Serve with American long-grain rice and you’re good to go.

Chicken Fajitas

Chicken fajitas are another Mexican dish that has become extremely popular the world over, with many variants available. To make your fajita mix you will need chicken, onions, chopped tomatoes, red and green peppers, chilies and some fajita seasoning. Fry the chicken and onions until almost cooked and then add the fajita seasoning. After the seasoning has turned the meat a golden brown, add your chopped tomatoes, peppers and chillies. After your mixture is heated through, serve it with torillas, sour cream, guacamole, salsa and cheese. If you’re entertaining, let your guests roll their own fajitas so they can choose exactly what they want in them.

Quesadillas

Also served in a tortilla, quesadillas are another favourite Mexican meal that you can prepare in a matter of minutes at home. Take a corn tortilla and fold it in half, stuff your tortilla with plenty of cheese, pork, avocado, salsa and some kidney beans. Fold your quesadilla up and place it in a non-stick pan to heat up. The quesadilla needs to sit in the pan until you’re sure that all the cheese inside it has melted. Once ready, slice your quesadilla into quarters for an authentic Mexican touch and serve with a large dollop of guacamole, you’ll have the perfect quesadilla dish.
