The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons Hits The London Stage

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are one of the most iconic groups in music history. Not only were they the first all white group to be signed to VeeJay records, they racked up 29 Top 40 hits during their career. Sixteen of these hits were achieved in just over 2 years. Unfortunately, their fame was hard earned and hard kept. Although they had many hits, a dispute over non-payment caused them to leave VeeJay and sign with Phillips Records where they continued with their string of hits. However, legal problems there caused fighting among group members and a failed album resulted in the group falling from the charts until 1975. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and are the only group to have hits spanning several decades. The group went through several name changes and group member changes before becoming the Four Seasons. Two of these were the Variatones and the Four Lovers.

“Jersey Boys” is currently on stage at the Prince Edward Theatre in London’s West End. The Prince Edward has had a tumultuous past similar to that of the Four Seasons.
