Have you ever wondered why it is that most women seem to prefer to go to the bathroom in groups? Well whether you have or haven’t pondered that thought before, you’re probably now wondering if there is in fact some well executed plan for this behavior that you’re just not privy to yet. In fact, if you’re a man you’ve more than likely convinced yourself that this women’s ritual is for a top secret reason that must never be shared among men. Well let’s take a look and see if we can uncover if this is indeed secret women’s business and what it’s all about.
Groups Aren’t for Everyone
First up let’s just be clear that not all women travel in packs to the bathroom. There are some who will avoid heading off with anyone else at all costs. Why travel together and have to share the toilet stalls, basins, hand dryer and most importantly the mirrors with more women than need be! Of course we’re talking about the minority here but still, it’s worth understanding a little about why some women don’t do the group bathroom visit as it is to understand why those who do.
Private Talks
Women are very good at having silent conversations with each other at dinner tables or simply standing around in groups, however, there is only so much eye gesturing, miming, frowning and concealed pointing you can do to get a message across. Eventually it comes time to get the whole story out and that requires a trip to the ladies’. A quick roll of the eyes toward the toilets and they’re off and racing. On arrival they can finally blurt out all the gossip in full detail. What exactly is the gossip about you might ask? Well that could range anywhere from discussions on how dates are going, shared opinions of a new man on the scene, concocting a getaway plan if the present company is less than thrilling, or simply to comment on the waiter and how poor the service is.
What women talk about in the bathroom is certainly secret women’s business and if truth be known, the subject matter is likely to be different every time. And anyone who tries to predict what women have been talking about in the washrooms is likely to be very wrong – it’s complicated and that’s all you need to know really.
Retouch
Touching up lipstick and makeup, checking the hair do and scanning for stray food in teeth is another popular reason women head to the washrooms. But why is it necessary to do this in a group? Women’s public restrooms can be quite busy places, what with all these group meetings going on, and that can make it a little difficult to take over an entire mirror for yourself to do your retouching when you’re on your own. However, when you’re in a group all the girls get to jump in and share a mirror and others don’t mind so much.
What it all really boils down to is that women value their friendships and the opinions of those closest to them, so if they want an honest opinion to a problem their facing, a new outfit their wearing or their new hair style it’s their girlfriends that they’ll turn to. And what better place to catch up, have a giggle or a heart to heart than in the washrooms?
