The attraction between a man and a woman is never something that can be defined. Women – and men – all have different opinions about what is (and isn’t) attractive in the opposite sex. Some things, however, like a guy with a pearly-white smile who’s friends with his mother, seem to attract most. Another thing that women love, as rare as it is to find, is a guy who cooks. Why?
Not All Women Love to Cook
In traditional gender roles, women cook for men; it’s just the way it’s been for centuries, at least. Of course, in modern society, those traditional gender roles don’t hold nearly as strong as they once did. And just because women were expected to cook, it didn’t mean they enjoyed doing it. If a woman hates to cook, she loves a guy who cooks all that much more. He likes to cook (and is good at it), so she doesn’t have to feel bad about not wanting to cook dinner (or burning it). We often look for partners that possess qualities we lack, and kitchen skills count.
Guys are Sexy in the Kitchen
Lots of times guys are attracted to girls when they’re doing not-so-girly things, like working on a car. Why? There’s something sexy about a woman doing something that isn’t expected of her and doing it well. It shows that she’s confident and unique. It’s also just really adorable to see her trying so hard. In that same avenue, women are often attracted to guys when they’re cooking. It’s a way for a guy to demonstrate dominance in another area, and women are naturally attracted to that.
Did you know studies have shown that one of the things a guy can do that is most attractive to a woman is something to help her out? Taking over a chore for her – like cooking – will make her swoon.
It Shows They Care
When a guy cooks you a three-course meal that took hours to prepare (and comes out great), is there any way to doubt that he loves you? Women want to feel taken care of, and there’s no better way to make that happen than by taking care of some of her most basic needs. When a guy cooks for his girl, he gets the opportunity to make her happy by demonstrating his nurturing side and showing his appreciation for her. Deep down, all women want to feel appreciated.
They’re Talented
Assuming that a guy cooks well, a woman will love it because it’s impressive. Being a good cook is practically a rare talent among men these days, and it certainly makes a guy stand out from the crowd. A woman gets the chance to see a man’s passion for cooking and his expertise. Talents are almost always attractive because they show that a person has something special to offer, something unique and valuable. And let’s face it: A woman loves a guy who can cook because that usually means he isn’t lazy.
