You don’t look happy. Sometimes without even realizing it, we can look sad, upset or downright angry, and we have no idea that something as simple as the expression on our face is deterring guys from approaching us. It’s impossible to look over the moon all the time, not to mention super weird, but if you’re in a situation where there are plenty of eligible bachelors around, do a quick face check and make sure you look happy. Of course you don’t need to grin wildly or pretend to laugh at nothing like a maniac-just make sure you don’t look like you just lost your best friend or are mad at the world.

Body language. Similar to the expression on our faces, our body language can turn a guy on…or off, fast. If you’re huddled in the corner, arms crossed with your shoulders down, a guy might not want to approach you because he thinks you’ll automatically reject him. You’ve built a barrier around yourself that, while invisible, is definitely seen. That’s what your body language is saying, at least! Even if you’re in the best mood and hoping he comes over, he can’t tell by looking at you. Simple adjustments can be made to give off a better vibe. Maintain proper posture, keep your arms down by your sides and the biggest one of all…smile!

He’s shy. Poor guys! Why do they have to do all the heavy lifting when it comes to dating and approaching women? There are plenty of guys who get so nervous at the thought of talking to a girl they find attractive that they completely psych themselves out and just don’t make a move. Do the man a favor and strike up a conversation with him. Or at the very least, make it a bit easier on him by trying to catch his eye and smiling…letting him know that you won’t be rejecting him.
