Not all beauty routines are created to suit everyone. There are so many beauty mistakes from buying the wrong cosmetic brush bags to applying the wrong makeup. In fact, many of them do more harm than good because most beauty tips were made to suit certain body, hair or skin types. Women would only have to apply what would best suit them.
Here are some big beauty mistakes women commit. Take note of them and avoid committing them as much as possible.
Mistake 1: Buying Perfume Without Tying It On First
Many women buy perfumes or cologne that they have smelled from someone else. The problem is, it may or may not smell good on everybody. When investing in a new fragrance, consider this: some fragrances have essential oils in them. This implies that women should remember some factors when buying scents such as body chemistry, diet, and age. These factors affect how a person wears a scent, so it is always important to try them before buying.
Also, don’t apply perfume after putting on clothes because it causes stains.
Mistake 2: Ignoring an Inflammation
Labels on beauty products say to consult a doctor if inflammation occurs. It’s there for a reason, seriously. If the skin starts to turn red, be cautious. Observe for a while and when it gets worse, consult a doctor immediately. Don’t play doctor by applying ointments that could aggravate the inflammation. Skin inflammation is usually caused by waxing, shaving, applying ointments and other creams, insect bites, and many more.
Mistake 3: Wearing Foundation Everyday
Women commit the mistake of wearing foundation every day because there are afraid to go out without makeup. The skin on the face needs a breather from time to time. To replace foundation, use a tinted moisturizer or use a tinted SPF cream. Blend it with a concealer if needed.
Mistake 4: Not Allowing Moisturizer to Dry Before Applying Foundation
When applying foundation, moisturizer should be applied first. However, some women don’t allow enough time for the moisturizer to dry and be absorbed by the skin resulting to blotching. Wait for the moisturizer to dry at least for 60 seconds before applying foundation.
Mistake 5: Ignoring Recurring Spots
The number one symptom of skin cancer is spots appearing on the skin. If the skin suddenly produces unexplainable spots, don’t wait, go to the doctor immediately and have it checked. Recurring spots or blemishes from acne and other skin problems should also be checked.
Mistake 6: Brushing Wet Hair
Split-ends are commonly caused by brushing the hair when it is still wet. The habit of brushing wet hair should be stopped as soon as possible to avoid stretching it and eventually breaking strands. However, it is recommended to brush wet hair while still in the shower as conditioner is applied on it.
Mistake 7: Applying Conditioner from Roots to Tips
Applying conditioner from roots to tips causes dandruff. That is why labels on conditioners say that it should only be applied at the tips. Apply conditioner starting from the ear only, downwards to the tips.
Now stop wondering which brushes to put in those cosmetic brush bags, or what conditioner to buy, and think about these beauty mistakes that could be easily avoided. Follow them and be more beautiful without thinking about where things could have gone wrong.
