With the increase in online dating and social networking, there’s increased vulnerability for sexual crime victims to be hunted by sexual predators online.
1 in 4 women will be raped in their lifetime, and 1 in 20 men have forced a woman to have sex against her will. That means there are hidden sexual deviants and multiple victims everywhere. And technically savvy predators are more frequently using sites like Facebook, Twitter, Plenty of Fish, Match, and a host of other online social networking and dating sites to get in contact with their next victim.
These rape statistics are shocking, and show that you should show extreme care when meeting people from the internet. Please use extreme caution when choosing to meet strangers from the internet. You never really know what their background is, or what their motive may be. But far too often, the motive is not pure and you can be putting yourself at risk.
