Top Cable Sitcoms You Don’t Want To Miss

Watching sitcoms can be fun and with DVR services, we often tend to record the entire season and watch the episodes back to back. Once we get a hang of the storyline, there is no going back. The top three sitcoms that you don’t want to miss would be The Big Bang Theory, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and 30 Rock. No matter what your mood is, these shows can be enjoyed.

The Big Bang Theory: It is a show created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady. The show is centered on five characters. Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper are roommates and are physicists who work at the California Institute of Technology. Penny is an aspiring actress who lives across the hall and works as a waitress. Leonard and Sheldon have two friends and co-workers, aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz and astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappali. The four main male characters are all avid sci-fi, fantasy, and comic book fans and memorabilia collectors. The geekiness and intellect of the four guys is contrasted for comic effect with Penny’s social skills and common sense. Much of the show focuses on science, particularly physics. The characters frequently banter about scientific theories or news and make science-related jokes. The Big Bang Theory has been highly rated since its premiere. During its fourth season, it became the television’s highest rated comedy.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The show is created, developed, and produced by Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day. It’s about a group of friends who run a relatively unsuccessful Irish bar in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The series follows “The Gang”, a group of five, Dennis Reynolds, Deandra “Dee” Reynolds, their father and friends Charlie Kelly and Ronald “Mac” McDonald and Frank Reynolds. They run a ramshackle bar in South Philadelphia, the Paddy’s Pub. They are often dishonest, egotistical, selfish, greedy, unethical, lazy, manipulative, deceitful, hypocritical, self-centered, vain, disloyal, unremorseful, overly competitive, immature, vengeful, and arrogant. Episodes usually find them hatching elaborate schemes, conspiring against each other and others for personal gain, vengeance, or simply for the entertainment of watching each one’s downfall. They inflict physical and psychological pain. They regularly use blackmail to manipulate one another and others outside the group.

30 Rock: It is a series created by Tina Fey and is produced in a single camera setup. The plot of 30 Rock revolves around the cast and crew of the fictional sketch comedy series TGS with Tracy Jordan. Liz Lemon is the protagonist of the series and head writer of TGS with Tracy Jordan. Tracy Jordan is the star of TGS. Jenna Maroney is the limelight seeking star of TGS. Kenneth Parcell is portrayed as the person who lives for the television. Pete Hornberger is the quick-witted producer of TGS and serves as Liz’s most trusted friend. Frank Rossitano is the sarcastic writer at TGS. Jack Donaghy is the network executive who constantly interferes with the goings-on at TGS. The series is one of the highest rated and most watched shows.
